Here's our text for Sunday, March 30, 2008:
(1st service ONLY)
"Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.'"
I don't mean any possible acquaintances you have in Alexandria or Cairo. And I don't mean the King Tut exhibit you saw last year at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
I mean, who are the persons or things you allow to enslave you even though you have told God you trust Him to care for all your needs?
Yes, even the most faithful of believers doubts God's power when it comes to the persons or things we often allow to control us.
Persons like our parents long after we have left the nest; or our children in a similar way.
Things like drugs, tobacco, food, gambling, alcohol or illicit sex which we allow ourselves to over-indulge in and become addicted to.
These and many other persons and things can be our masters and we their slaves no less than the ancient Hebrews were slaves of their Egyptian masters.
This Sunday, come to the 1st service to hear a message of Hope, for "we CAN do all things through HIM who strengthens us."
Then stay for 9:15 Sunday School and don't miss the 10:45 SPECIAL SERVICE!
The men of Teen Challenge in Rehrersburg come this Sunday at 10:45am to share their testimonies of hope in the midst of despair, joy in time of sorrow, and to share a light lunch with us following the service.
I look forward to seeing all of you who can afford the air fare!
